What it tastes like
Fresh, zesty and light. The drizzle goes on while the loaf is still warm, so the sharp lemon syrup soaks right through the sponge instead of sitting on top. Not too sweet, with a proper tang - always one of the first of the week's cakes to sell out.
A loaf, not a round
This one is baked in a 2lb (1kg) loaf tin rather than as a round cake, so it slices neatly into around ten to twelve pieces. Just right with a cup of tea, and easy to wrap and keep for a few days - if it lasts that long.
Dairy free, like everything we bake
There is no butter or milk in it, and nothing to ask or pay extra for. It is made to taste every bit as good as a traditional lemon drizzle cake, just without the dairy.
